Other activities during the week included printing with windfall apples, investigating different types of grain, harvesting runner beans (a tad too old to eat but wonderful for measuring and for close examination), seeking out wild autumnal berries, fungi, flowers and fruits.
On one wonderfully bright morning we went combine hunting; we found them in a barn at the farm and had a picnic snack before returning to base through the woods.
