How to apply for admission to the Reception Class
Calling all 3 and 4 year olds
If your child was born between 1st September 2006 and 31st August 2007 they can start school from September 2011. A new government initiative now entitles all children in this age group to full time education from this date but if you wish you can opt for your child to attend part-time until they are 5.
Compton and Up Marden CE School is a small friendly primary school set in idyllic surroundings. Click the tab above to see the school website in full. We offer a broad curriculum with free musical instrument tuition and French lessons for all children from 7 upwards. By September 2011 we hope that our new school hall offering space for indoor PE, concerts and hot school meals will be fully operational.
If you live in West Sussex you can make your application online at www.westsussex.gov.uk. Parents of children resident in Hampshire should use the Hampshire website: www.hants.gov.uk and follow the Education and Learning link. Application on paper is also possible using an application form available from the Admissions office.
Please note that the window for making applications this year is from 15th October 2010 to 15th January 2011. The closing date is very strictly enforced.
